Bhagat Singh’s birth anniv low-key affair

The 117th brith anniversary of martyr Bhagat Singh remained a sombre affair in the city.

While the absence of senior leaders and bureaucrats was conspicuous, social and youth welfare organisations continued to throng the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk.

The police were directed by the district administration officials to regulate traffic at the chowk and maintain law and order in the city, keeping in view the occasion.

The civic body was directed to make lighting arrangement at the chowk and to ensure cleanliness, besides adorning the martyr’s statue with flower.

Inqlaabi Nojawan Sabha paid tributes to the martyr, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, on the occasion in Patiala today.
