It is still unclear whether the two others, whose bodies have been found, jumped into the canal along with Mangla.

Mangla’s scooter and personal belongings, including his purse, were discovered near the Bhakra canal in the Pasiana area on Tuesday. The family reported him missing after repeated phone calls went unanswered.

Police teams were actively searching the area, and special divers have been deployed to comb the canal, as authorities suspect he may have jumped in an apparent suicide attempt. Police are probing all possible angles, including whether Mangla left behind a suicide note and if he was facing any blackmail, financial distress, or other pressures that may have driven him to take the extreme step.
