BJP slams Congress over posters terming Ravneet Bittu as ‘traitor’

Tension escalated between BJP and Congress leaders here on Tuesday after posters branding Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu as a ‘traitor’ appeared in the city. BJP workers swiftly removed the posters, terming them objectionable and provocative.

BJP youth wing secretary Anuj Khosla said some Congress workers had put up flexes with objectionable content at various locations in the city, targeting the Union Minister.

“Taking swift action, my team and I visited the spots, removed the posters and took them into our possession,” Khosla said, accusing the Congress of indulging in “low-level politics” and attempting to vitiate the political atmosphere in the city. Defending Bittu, Khosla said the minister came from a family that had made sacrifices for Punjab.
