Blaze breaks out at Patiala clothing store

Readymade garments worth lakhs were gutted after a fire broke out late night on Sunday night.

The incident took place at a readymade garment store located opposite to the head post office. Aryan, an employee at the showroom said that short circuit appeared to be the reason behind the incident.

An employee working in the nearby restaurant was the first to spot the smoke and flames emitting from the store and raised alarm.

The fire department was informed about the incident but flames had engulfed the first and second floor of the garment store within minutes.

Meanwhile, two fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames. No injuries were reported in the incident.
