Patiala: Government Senior Secondary Model School Punjabi University on Monday celebrated the Civil Defence Day. NCC cadet Riya informed the students about the day. Civil defence volunteers save people from natural disasters like flood, earthquake, storm and fire. ANO Satvir Singh urged the students to join armed forces and serve the country. The students also commemorated 50 years of 1971 war between India and Pakistan. Gagandeep Singh, Parvinder Singh and other teachers were present on the occasion. — TNS
