Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday pledged to confront and dismantle forces attempting to disrupt the peace and communal harmony of the state. Speaking at the Republic Day function at Polo Ground, the Chief Minister underscored the significance of the state’s strong social fabric, stating no efforts to create strife would be tolerated. He called for public support in preserving the state’s peace, progress and prosperity, warning that divisive forces would not succeed in sowing discord.

The Chief Minister also took the opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of various individuals and officers from across the state. He honoured district attorney Anmoljit Singh for his exemplary legal work and presented the Chief Minister Rakshak Padak to several police officers, including Assistant Sub-Inspectors Manna Singh and Rajinder Singh, Lady Senior Constable Kulwinder Kaur and others for their dedication to duty. He also awarded the Chief Minister’s Medal for outstanding devotion to duty to a number of police personnel, including SPs, DSPs and Inspectors.

In a special tribute to those who have contributed significantly to society, Mann honoured doctors, retired officials and public figures who have made outstanding contributions in various fields. Notably, families of army martyrs, including Shaheed Sipahi Bhupinder Singh and Shaheed Nayak Rajwinder Singh, were also recognised for their sacrifices.

Mann additionally awarded certificates to individuals under the FARISHTEY Scheme and pledged to continue supporting the people of the state in their collective journey towards a peaceful, prosperous future.
