Patiala, April 9

After repeated reminders to people for staying indoors, the police have now started using drones to identify and arrest those roaming in the city thus violating the curfew guidelines.

Enforcement of curfew orders is being ensured thorough regular nakas, patrolling by PCRs and use of human intelligence.

“A number of FIRs have been registered against violators. Now, we have started using drones to cover the entire city and specifically for the colonies where repeated violations are being reported,” said Patiala SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu.

Through drones the police have nabbed 16 persons, who found sitting together in an open space without any valid reason. An FIR under Section 188 of the IPC was registered against them.

“Besides drones, CCTV cameras installed at various locations will be used to enhance surveillance,”the SSP said.

“Stay home, stay safe, stay healthy is being advocated through various platforms,” the SSP added.

“No curfew violator will be spared,” the SSPsaid.
