Patiala, August 16
The police have solved a blind murder case of a pig farmer with the arrest of three individuals. The victim, Kesar Singh (53), had been missing for past three months. He was living in Rawas Brahmanan village under the jurisdiction of Pasiana police station for nearly one year.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nanak Singh, a complaint was lodged by the victim’s relative, Avtar Singh, who had last spoken to Kesar Singh over the phone a few days before his disappearance.
A comprehensive investigation was launched under the supervision of SP (Investigation) Yogesh Kumar Sharma and SP (Special Branch) Jasvir Singh and DSP Samana Neha Agarwal.
Sharing details, Station House officer (SHO) Pasiana police station Karanvir Singh said professional rivalry was the reason behind the murder. The police apprehended Rahul, who was already involved in a separate case. During the interrogation, Rahul cracked and confessed to the murder of Kesar Singh, revealing that he was involved in a conspiracy with his uncle, Pramod Kumar alias Dheera, and cousin, Hira Lal, to kill Kesar Singh and steal his pigs. The trio executed their plan on June 22.
Karanvir Singh said that Dheera had helped Kesar Singh establish his farm. Dheera met with an accident and could not visit him for few days. In his absence, Kesar Singh was looking after Dheera’s pig farm. When Dheera returned, he found some of his pigs dead due to a disease and blamed Kesar for deliberately causing him financial harm due to business rivalry.
Later, Dheera hatched a plan to kill Kesar Singh, who was living alone at the farm. The matter came to light when the police received a complaint on August 12 about the mysterious disappearance of Kesar Singh. The police have successfully apprehended all three accused involved in the crime. Further investigations are underway to gather more details about the case.
The successful resolution of the case has been lauded by the local community, with the police being commended for their diligent efforts in bringing the culprits to justice.
