Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Sona Thind today visited the historical Jahaj Haveli of Diwan Todar Mal to review the ongoing work initiated to restore its original look.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said, “The land of Fatehgarh Sahib has an important place in Sikh history and is associated with the unparalleled martyrdom of the younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh, Baba Zorawar Singh, Baba Fateh Singh and Mata Gujri.”

“As Diwan Todar Mal bought the land for the last rites of the Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri by raising the gold stamps, his name was written in golden letters in the pages of history books,” she added, noting that the Jahaj Haveli was in a very dilapidated condition but was being preserved as a heritage for the younger generation.
