Father, daughter die after family of four consumes poison in Patiala; money dispute suspected
A father and his daughter died, while his wife and son are undergoing treatment after a suspected poisoning incident involving a family of four in Patiala's Officer Colony on Thursday, police said.
According to preliminary information, an ongoing dispute over financial transactions among relatives may have led to tensions within the family.
Police suspect that the head of the family allegedly poisoned his wife and two children before consuming the poison himself. However, officials said the exact sequence of events and motive are yet to be established.
The father and daughter were declared dead, while the mother and son were admitted to hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
