As part of the month-long celebrations marking International Women’s Day, the Department of Immunohematology and Blood Transfusion (Blood Centre) of the Government Medical College and Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, in collaboration with the Punjab State Blood Transfusion Council, organised a special ceremony to honour female blood donors, motivators and camp organiaers at the college campus on Friday.

Dr Rajan Singla, principal of the Government Medical College and the chief guest of the event, emphasised how women have always been at the forefront of social change.

He highlighted that their active participation in voluntary blood donation reflects their unwavering commitment to humanity. He further expressed confidence that this initiative would serve as an inspiration for many others to step forward and contribute to this noble cause.
