During a surprise inspection at Shri Krishan Kripa Industries on Dhablan Road in Kheri Gorian village of the district, a team comprising Agriculture Development Officers Dr Amanpreet Singh and Dr Raspinder Singh, along with ASI Baldev Singh, found urea fertiliser stored in unauthorised bags and outside the designated premises. The firm also failed to produce the required documents. The team seized the stock under Clause 28 of the Fertiliser Control Order, 1985.

A case has been registered against the firm under Sections 2(h), 3, 19 and 25 of the Fertiliser Control Order, 1985, along with Sections 3 and 7 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, and Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, for causing financial loss to the government and violating prescribed norms.

Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Dara Singh said the Central guidelines prohibited unauthorised storage of fertilisers and their repackaging in unapproved bags.

Dr Amanpreet Singh said strict action would be taken against any dealer found selling fertilisers above the fixed price, bundling other products with fertilisers, storing them without authorisation or diverting them for non-agricultural uses such as in feed or plywood factories.
