The district administration and the Horticulture Department jointly organised the annual flower exhibition and food festival at the historic Baradari Gardens.
State AAP general secretary Baltej Pannu and Deputy Commissioner Varjeet Walia were the chief guests at the event.
Pannu visited various stalls and encouraged gardening enthusiasts. Addressing the gathering, he said Patiala was a city of gardens and music, and its heritage was a shared legacy. He appealed to citizens to preserve the heritage.
Walia stated that such festivals not only promoted awareness about nature but also provided a platform for local artists and traders.
Harinderpal Singh, Deputy Director of the Horticulture Department, informed that competitions for cut flowers, flower pots, cactus and bonsai were organised during the flower show.
The event featured 20 food stalls, 25 organic stalls and exhibitions of 2,000 flowers. Prizes were distributed among 25 winners.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Simarpreet Kaur, Additional Deputy Commissioner (UD) Ismat Vijay Singh, SDM Harjot Kaur, Chief Minister’s Field Officer Satish Chandra, and a large number of residents attended the event.
