Four arrested for Sirhind murder
The police cracked the March 2 Sirhind murder case with the arrest of four people and the recovery of the weapons.
Addressing the media, district police chief Shubham Agarwal said they had received information about the death of the victim, Hardeep Singh alias Deepi, a resident of Mirpur village, following which a murder case was registered.
A special investigation team (SIT) led by Rakesh Yadav SP(D), Sukhnaz Singh, DSP, and Sandeep Singh, Inspector, SHO Sirhind, was constituted.
Following an investigation, the accused, Jasbir Singh alias Bunty, a resident of Mirpur; Shiv Shankar alias Shankar, a resident of Badhauchi Kalan; Kuljit Singh alias Sunny and Gurpreet Singh alias Kaka, residents of Jalvehra, were arrested and the weapons used in the murder were recovered from them.
The police chief said one of the accused, Husanpreet Singh alias Husan, a resident of Mirpur village is absconding and would be arrested soon.
During the initial investigation, it had come to light that the murder was committed due to ongoing property dispute. Jasbir Singh Bunty is a relative of the accused.
The police said an iron axe, an iron kirch and other weapons were used in the murder. Two Splendor motorcycles have also been impounded from the arrested accused.
Bunty and Gurpreet Singh are already faces charges in other criminal cases.
