With the arrest of four persons, the police today claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of thieves and recovered 131 new mobile phones from them.

The accused have been identified as Balwinder Singh (25) of Tripuri, Paramjit Singh (26) of Vikas Nagar, Raj Rajak (18) and Chandan Kumar, both natives of Madhya Pradesh.

According to SP (City) Muhammad Sarfaraz Alam, the accused were operating the gang disguising as drivers and cleaners. They picked targets in cities they visited and escaped soon after perpetrating the crime.

The police were looking for them after they broke into a store at Rang Shah Colony. A case under Section 457 and 380 was registered against them.

The accused were nabbed by a team led by Kotwali SHO Harinder Singh following a tip-off that the thieves were planning to sell stolen mobile phones.
