A seven-year-old boy, belonging to a peasant family of Seehan Daud, was allegedly kidnapped by two motorcycle-borne suspects when the boy was playing outside his home on the outskirts of the village.

Separate teams of Payal and Amargarh police launched a search operation to trace the kidnappers, who were seen on the Malerkotla-Khanna road after the incident.

An encounter took place near Mandour village on Nabha road in Patiala. Police have recovered the child while an accused has been shot dead as the joint teams of Patiala and Khanna cracked the case.
