Man booked for wife’s murder

A 34-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband and in-laws at Ganda Kherhi village near Rajpura.

The deceased has been identified as Ramanpreet Kaur, a native of Shahbad in Haryana. The couple has two daughters. Ramanpreet died days after she had returned to her in-laws' house.

Her family told the police that they had been informed that a quarrel had taken place at Ramanpreet's house. They reached there and found her lying in a pool of blood.

Her brother Simran Singh alleged that there was an ongoing dispute at her in-laws' home.

Ghanaur DSP Harmanpreet Singh Cheema said on the statement of the victim's brother, a case had been registered against her husband Gurmeet Singh, her brother-in-law and others.
