The police have procured a Japanese machine for spraying disinfectant at public places in the city, which will now be used by the Municipal Corporation. Officials in the Police Department said the machine would be used for a week to spray disinfectant on major roads and chowks, including bus stand, Khanda Chowk, Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib, Bhupindra Road, Fountain Chowk and other places in the city.
Patiala SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu said, “The machine will be used to spray disinfectant at the Police Lines, police stations in the area and other buildings.”
“The machine has a capacity of storing 600 litres of sodium hypocloride, a disinfectant, at a time. The MC is already using another machine with capacity of 2,000 litres along with hand-held machines for spraying disinfectant,” added MC officials.
