After detection of coronavirus cases in the district, the administration has now stepped-up efforts to contain further spread of the disease by delegating duties to officials concerned for various purposes.

During a meeting, officials, including Municipal Commissioner Poonamdeep Kaur and ADC (D) Preeti Yadav, were directed to adhere to the Covid-19 precautions at the ground level, especially in containment and micro-containment zones.

Municipal Commissioner Poonamdeep Kaur, assigned the duty of supplying essential goods in containment zones, would also keep a vigil on subdivisions. She will monitor the compulsory quarantine process of NRIs and other citizens coming back to the district.

Meanwhile, ADC (D) Dr Preeti Yadav will be monitoring Covid-19 testing, isolated cases and home isolation of people through SDMs and Civil Surgeon.

ADC (G) Pooja Syal Grewal will monitor the movement of people entering the district by roads, particularly through the Shambhu border, rail and air in coordination with the SSP, SDMs and the Civil Surgeon Office.

Officials said they would keep a strict vigil to curb aggravation of the coronavirus situation in the district.
