Patiala, June 29
A joint team of the National Informatics Centre and the Punjab Municipal Infrastructure Development Company paid a visit to the Patiala Municipal Corporation for digitisation of its services. MC officials said they would digitise challans, property tax, water and sewerage tax etc.
Municipal Commissioner Aaditya Uppal said the team comprising officials of the two departments discussed all 26 services provided by the MC.
He said, “Some services including filing of property tax are available online. But we want to streamline work at the property tax department. We are expecting to increase property tax submission by 1.5 per cent.”
He said the MC would digitise challans. Currently officials issue paper challans upon their visit to sites but with a proper digital process in place, we will provide them with tabs and other digital devices for the purpose, he said.
