Patiala district reports 776 new Covid cases, 1 death

Patiala, January 13

As many as 11,330 people were vaccinated at various locations in the district today, taking the number of inoculated persons to 18,04,714. To date, 2,010 persons have been administered the Covid-19 booster dose.

The district on Thursday reported 776 new Covid-19 cases and one death. Now, the death count in the district stands at 1,378.

Civil Surgeon Dr Prince Sodhi holding an online meeting with officials of the Health Department directed them to ensure establishment of separate polling booths for Covid-19 positive persons. He directed the officials to provide PPE kits for officials on polling duty.

Of the positive cases reported today, 402 were from Patiala city. The number of active cases in the district stands at 4,533.

District Epidemiologist Dr Sumit Singh said 18 cases were reported from Kartarpur Colony and seven from the DMW area. The respective areas had been converted into containment zones.

Fatehgarh Sahib district reports 189 cases

The district reported 189 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, taking the active case count to 10,019. Today, Mandi Gobindgarh reported 36 cases, Khamanon seven, Fatehgarh Sahib 58, Amloh 28, Khera 17, Charnarathal Kalan 17, Bassi Pathana 15 and 11 cases from Nandpur Kalaur.

Presently, there are 707 active cases in the district and 8,973 patients have been cured, said the Civil Surgeon. He said that 704 patients were in home isolation and two on level 2 treatment in the Isolation ward of the Civil Hospital, while one patient was undergoing treatment in Indus Hospital.
