A massive state-level protest rally is set to take place on February 4 in front of the PSPCL Head Office, with over 4,000 employees, engineers and pensioners expected to participate. The rally, organised by the Power Sector Joint Action Committee, aims to protest against the proposed sale of Power Department properties, the Electricity Bill 2025 and the installation of two 800MW thermal units at Ropar.
Ajaypal Singh Atwal, General Secretary of the PSEB Engineers Association, stated that the employees and engineers have been on a war path for months, but the government has not listened to their concerns. The rally will decide the future course of action, with the aim of saving the public electricity sector for the common people of Punjab.
