It was a proud moment for artistes across the region as President Draupadi Murmu interacted with the phulkari makers during her visit to the Indian School of Business, Mohali, today.

The artistes are trained at the Mehar Baba Charitable Trust (MBCT) of Bassi Pathana. Thakur Mejie, a trustee, said Punjab assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan presented a phulkari-embroidered stole to the President.

The Stole was crafted by the rural artistes from a self-help group, Phulkari Makers Bassi Pathana, promoted by Mehar Baba Charitable Trust.
