Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann vows to protect state’s peace and harmony on 76th Republic Day
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday vowed to crush the forces inimical to the state and foil their conspiracies aimed at disturbing peace, communal harmony, brotherhood and amity of Punjab. He further appealed that the farmers of the country must be heard and their issues be resolved on priority.
Addressing the gathering after unfurling the national flag during an event to commemorate 76th Republic Day at Polo Ground here, the Chief Minister said that Punjab is the land of the gurus, saints, seers, martyrs and has always been a torch bearer to mankind for values of brotherhood and communal harmony.
“Maintaining the hard-earned peace in the state is the first and foremost priority for this government, and no one will be allowed to disturb it,” he said.
The CM said that in order to facilitate Punjabi diaspora across the globe, state-of-the-art NRI facilitation centre — “Punjab Help Centre” has been opened at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.
He also felicitated prominent officers/officials, participants and people from various walks of life during the Republic Day celebration for their remarkable contribution to society and the state.
