Punjabi University has decided to allow research scholars to undertake research-related activities on the campus from September 21. The students will be allowed to access the services with the approval of their department heads and supervisors.

Researchers will now be able to access the university library as per the norms. The students will now be able to carry out research work on the campus with the approval of their department heads and supervisors.

The university had temporarily postponed the academic work from March 14 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Students associated with the researchers’ society of Punjabi University, the All India Students Federation, the PSU and the PSU (Lalkar) held a protest followed by a meeting with Dean (Academics) Dr GS Batra this week. They pointed out that their research work had been affected due to the lockdown.

The office of Dean (Academics), in a notification released today, said the researchers would now be able to access the university library as per the norms. The students will now be able to carry out research work on the campus with the approval of their department heads and supervisors.
