Tribune News Service

Patiala, June 22

The district — to the surprise of many health experts — witnessed a sudden spike in Covid cases. Patiala on Wednesday reported 20 positive cases, thereby, taking the tally of active case count to 61. Of today’s 20 Covid cases, 12 were reported from Patiala city, while three were reported from Rajpura. Nabha and Kauli block reported two cases each, while Harpalpur reported one case of Covid over the past 24 hours.

Patiala Civil Surgeon Dr Raju Dhir said people should once again seriously start to adopt the Covid appropriate behaviour.

Dr Sumeet Singh, District Epidemiologist, said people should immediately go for testing whenever they saw Covid-like symptoms. He said there was no clustering of Covid cases. “People should not ignore virus symptoms and immediately get themselves tested for Covid. There has been a rise in cases. It is a wake-up call and people should take precautions,” he added.
