‘Tree for Gun’ scheme launched

Patiala, September 9

Patiala Divisional Commissioner Chander Gaind launched the ‘Tree for Gun’ scheme in Barnala.

Gaind said anyone who wanted a new arms licence or renewal of an existing one would have to plant 10 and five saplings, respectively. He said one would have to submit a selfie with each planted sapling at the time of filing of an application. He said after one month before moving the application for police clearance, the applicant needed to furnish the fresh status of the planted saplings by submitting new selfies with the grown up trees. — TNS
