Two arrested for stealing motorcycles in Patiala

A team of the Civil Lines police arrested two members of a gang involved in motorcycle thefts in different parts of the city. The accused have been identified as Manpreet Singh alias Golu and Pradeep Singh, residents of Sangrur. Nine stolen motorcycles have been recovered from their possession.

Civil Lines Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Gagandeep Singh stated that Model Town Chowki in-charge Sub-Inspector Janak Raj, Assistant Sub-Inspector Pawan Kumar along with the police team arrested that accused in Model Town area following a tip- off.

A stolen motorcycle, belonging to Karandeep Singh, a resident of New Yadavindra Colony, was also recovered their possession.

The accused were presented in court and a two-day police remand was obtained.

During the remand, eight more stolen motorcycles were recovered from their possession. Inspector Gagandeep Singh said that the accused are being interrogated thoroughly.

Both the accused are school dropouts and prima facie investigation has revealed that they were stealing motorcycles, parked in abandoned area or busy markets, to make quick money.
