Two booked for climbing atop water tank

Patiala, January 5

The police have registered a case against two ETT and TET-pass teachers who had protested at an overhead water tank in the city. The case has been registered on a complaint of Simrat Kaur, Principal of Government Mohindra College, Patiala, against Gurbhej Singh of Fazilka and Manoj of Ferozepur.

The police said according to the complaint, the two entered the college illegally and raised slogans after climbing atop the water tank. They also threatened the administration and showed bottles of petrol.

The police have registered the case against the two at the Kotwali police station under Sections 447 (criminal trespass), 385 (putting person in fear of injury in order to commit extortion), 506 (criminal intimidation), 309 (attempt to commit suicide) and other sections of the IPC.
