The Patiala police claimed to have busted a two-member gang involved in incidents of loot and robbery in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Delhi. The duo was also wanted in two cases registered in Patiala.

Addressing the media, Patiala SSP Nanak Singh said a team led by City SP Sarfaraz Alam and Kotwali SHO Harjinder Singh arrested Shitij Bhardwaj of Mayur Vihar in Delhi and Himanshu Soni of Kirawal Nagar in Delhi. “We have recovered three pistols and 15 cartridges from their possession,” said Nanak Singh.

The police said they had cracked some recent theft cases in Patiala, including theft of goods worth Rs 50 lakh from an electronics showroom and that of a luxury sedan, with the arrest of the accused. “We have made recoveries following their arrest and raids are on to nab their three other associates,” said the SSP.
