Woman dies, son battles for life after murderous attack

A 46-year old woman was found dead in a pool of blood, while her 18-year-old son was badly injured and admitted to a hospital after unknown persons attacked them in the wee hours at their one room- rented house today. The police have registered a case and initiated probe into the matter.

According to the police, the deceased woman, identified as Suman, was married to a person in Barnala. Both had a matrimonial dispute, which was pending in court.

Her son Manjot Singh is presently undergoing treatment for injuries inflicted with sharp weapons by accused. “We are investigating the case. The CCTV footage from nearby cameras is being examined. We will crack the case soon,” said DSP Satnam Singh.

The police suspect that the crime took place in the wee hours when unknown accused barged into the victims’ house and attacked them. The deceased woman worked as a maid.
