Work at the Patiala Municipal Corporation office was suspended this afternoon after an official tested positive for Covid-19 here today.

MC officials said 20 contacts of the official were sampled. They had been asked not to report to work till their reports were out.

Commissioner Poonamdeep Kaur said: “We have also started sanitising the office. Work will resume from tomorrow, but public will not be allowed to enter the office premises.”

The Municipal Corporation will cater to all matters of the public through a single window system where they will be able to submit applications and undertake other matters.

The MC has not yet provided the details of the contacts of the official who tested positive.
