Patiala, April 7

A function was organised to celebrate the World Health Day at Gian Sagar Medical College and Hospital today.

Dr AS Sekhon, Dean, Gian Sagar Medical College and Hospital, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said, “The World Health Day 2021 comes at a time when the Covid-19 pandemic has undercut recent health gains, pushed more people into poverty and food insecurity, and amplified gender, social and health inequities.”

“The World Health Day is observed annually to create awareness about health and wellbeing. It draws the attention of the people from all around the world to highlight important health issues. It is imperative to be prepared mentally, physically and financially for all kinds of uncertainties during these constantly evolving times,” he added.

Dr Jasbir Kaur, Director, Gian Sagar Medical College and Hospital, said, “Each April 7 marks the celebration of the World Health Day. The theme for the World Health Day 2021 is “Building a fairer, healthier world for everyone.”
