Phase 11 residents flout curfew order

Harshabab Sidhu

Mohali, March 23

Despite the Punjab Government’s order issued today to impose curfew in the state many residents of Phase 11 were found flouting the order.

Senior Deputy Mayor Rishav Jain alleged that police had failed to maintain curfew in Phase 11 area. He said despite the curfew order, residents could be easily seen today roaming in parks and streets of their localities.

“Youngsters were seen playing in the parks today. The picture in these areas was not representing curfew,” said Rishav Jain.

He said he also asked the Station House Officer (SHO) Phase 11 police station Amandeep Singh to implement the orders properly.

Jain said that he had complained to Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu about the issue and also demanded to change the SHO of the Phase 11 police station.

SHO Amandeep Singh said that their team was on duty since 6 am and proper patrolling was also done in the area. He said that they were asking residents to stay inside their houses. The SHO alleged that senior deputy mayor should cooperate with him instead of complaining.
