Jalandhar, February 14

Members of the Surya Enclave Development Society today gave a memorandum to the MLA from the Jalandhar Central Assembly segment, Rajinder Beri.

They said they wanted to draw the attention of the MLA towards the deplorable condition of roads of the society. The Improvement Trust had been giving a step motherly treatment to it.

They said the road leading to the crematorium was in a poor condition as the stretch was full of potholes. In the memorandum, it is also stated that the Surya Enclave gate also needed a facelift and the road divider needs to be repainted.

They also said street lights were out of order and there were several hanging electric wires which could cause major accidents. Besides, the issue of garbage dump was also raised.

“The entrance to the area near the flyover has become a garbage dump. The need of the hour is to clean the place. Foul smell emanating from the dump is making it difficult for morning walkers to pass through the place,” the memorandum reads.
