A joint team of the Health Department and police confiscated 1.26 quintal cheese prepared from a powder during a raid at a unit following a tip-off.
Food Safety Officer Abhinav Khosla said the unit owners tried to mislead the public by hiding information that the cheese was being prepared from powder instead of milk.
Khosla said it was mandatory for manufacturers to mention the ingredients on the packaging. He said they had collected the cheese samples.
The Fazilka Civil Surgeon held a meeting with sweets sellers and directed them to mention the date of expiry on the boxes of sweets.
