16-year-old dies after falling from tractor en route to Anandpur Sahib
Tragic mishap while going for Hola Mohalla claims life of teenage boy in Moga district
A 16-year-old youth lost his life after falling from a moving tractor near the Jawaddi area on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Harjot Singh, a resident of Baghapurana in Moga. Following the accident, he was rushed to a nearby private hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The Dugri police reached the spot and shifted the deceased to civil hospital for a post-mortem.
According to ASI Baljinder Singh, the investigating officer, Harjot was traveling with a religious group (Jatha) toward a shrine on a tractor-trailer. At approximately 9 am on Saturday, while sitting on the tractor, he lost his balance and fell onto the road, sustaining severe injuries. Despite immediate efforts to save him by taking him to a private medical facility, he succumbed to his injuries.
The police stated that further legal proceedings are underway based on the statements provided by the deceased’s family members following the autopsy.
