Unidentified men kidnapped the 19-year-old son of a vegetable arhtiya from Sabji Mandi on Phagwara Road here around 5 am on Monday.

Rajan, son of Jaipal, had reached their shop in his car. As soon as he parked the car outside the shop, kidnappers came in a Verna car and pushed him into their car and fled. One of the kidnappers drove Rajan's car.

After an hour, Rajan's father received a call and the kidnappers asked for a huge amount as ransom.

SSP Amneet Kondal with police officials reached the spot and started an investigation.

In CCTV footage of the camera installed at their shop, it could be seen that as soon as Rajan stepped out of his car, parking it before their shop, kidnappers came in a car from behind and pushed him into their car and fled.
