Investigations conducted under direct supervision of SSP Dr Ankur Gupta have revealed that old enmity between the deceased and prime accused Gursewak Singh Mota was the main reason behind the murder.

Though the police have focused its investigation on tracking the path of the absconding accused and ascertaining their criminal antecedents, it has come to know that the victim, too, was booked in a case registered under the NDPS Act at the Hathur police station on May 12, 2021.
