The Ludhiana (Rural) Police have rounded up two more accused wanted in connection with the killing of a bouncer of Manuke village in Ludhiana district on Monday.
Now nine persons, including six relatives/family members of the accused, are in the custody of the police that is investigating the murder of Gagandeep Singh, the bouncer of Manuke village who was shot dead near the Grain market on the outskirts of the village on Monday.
Though the police have not disclosed the identities of all suspects in police custody, it claimed to have extracted vital information by interrogating Gurdeep Singh of Badhni Kalan in Moga regarding the illegal activities of at least four of the main accused.
Investigations conducted under direct supervision of SSP Dr Ankur Gupta have revealed that old enmity between the deceased and prime accused Gursewak Singh Mota was the main reason behind the murder.
Though the police have focused its investigation on tracking the path of the absconding accused and ascertaining their criminal antecedents, it has come to know that the victim, too, was booked in a case registered under the NDPS Act at the Hathur police station on May 12, 2021.
Gurdeep Singh (now in police remand) is facing at least three criminal cases and had come on bail on October 15, 2025.
Both Gurdeep Singh and Gursewak Singh Mota were booked at a police station in Muktsar district under the Arms Act on September 1, 2025, for possessing illegal weapons.
Mota was released on bail on October 9, 2025.
