Sangrur, November 19
The three-day international book fest organised by the Sangrur Heritage Preservation Society in Government Girls Senior Secondary School here concluded on Sunday.
The society distributed 5,000 books free of cost to the students to generate reading habits. During the fest, 15 exhibition-cum-sale book stalls related to literature, history, general knowledge mathematics and comics were set up. Karanvir Singh Sibia, Chairman of the society, said the society was set up to preserve Sangrur’s heritage and culture so that coming generations could know about the rich heritage and history of the Sangrur city, which was the capital of erstwhile Jind state. — TNS
