3 held for abetting suicide

Abohar: The Sadar police on Wednesday arrested Balwinder Singh Bunty, his sister and mother in Kundal village for allegedly abetting the suicide of Bunty's wife. The bodies of Shobha (26) and her two-year-old son Avi were recovered from a sub-canal on Tuesday. The duo went missing on Sunday. OC

Drug suppliers booked

Bathinda: The Bathinda police have identified suppliers in the incidents pertaining to death of three youths due to drug overdose and booked them under Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the IPC, which is a non-bailable offence. Manpreet Singh of Bir Talab, Kuldeep Singh of Bangiwander village and Birbal Singh of Bucho Mandi died due to drug overdose. TNS

263 phones recovered

Mansa: The police have recovered 263 mobile phones which were lost or stolen in recent years and handed over them to their original owners. Mansa SSP Narinder Bhargav said, “A special team headed by SP (Headquarters), Mansa, Satnam Singh used advanced technology to successfully trace the stolen or lost mobile phones.” TNS
