3 new DGPs gets postings; ADGP Harpreet Sidhu posted as STF chief

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government on Thursday posted newly-promoted three DGPs and shifted Harpreet Singh Sidhu, special principal secretary to CM, as ADGP, STF.

Chandigarh, July 18

The Punjab government on Thursday posted newly-promoted three DGPs and shifted Harpreet Singh Sidhu, special principal secretary to CM, as ADGP, STF.

After promotion Prabodh Kumar has been posted as special DGP and Director, Bureau of Investigation; Rohit Choudhary will be special DGP, Policy and Rules, and Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota elevated as special DGP, Armed Battalions, Jalandhar.

Likewise, Gurpreet Deo has been transferred as ADGP, Crime, and Praveen Kumar Sinha posted as officiating ADGP, Prisons.

Sidhu was unceremoniously posted out of STF after STF questioned senior officers in drug smuggling case.

Rohit Chaudhary who was promoted yesterday to the rank of DGP is moved out of Prisons Department. There have been one after another incidents of violence in state jails.

Praveen Kumar Sinha posted as ADGP, Prisons, is heading the SIT probing the Rs 16-crore cash scandal involving a Jalandhar priest. He had arrested two police constables from Kerala after they ran off with nearly Rs 7 crore recovered from the priest.
