Rs 5,673 cr annual railway budget for Punjab: Bittu

Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Bittu has announced multiple projects for Pathankot district.

He said a technical consultancy had been engaged to conduct feasibility study, master planning and designing of the Pathankot Cantonment Railway Station. “A detailed project report (DPR) is also being prepared,” he said.

“The annual railway budget allocation for Punjab is Rs 5,673 crore, which is nearly 25 times higher than what it was during the 2009-2014 period. At present, infrastructure projects worth Rs 26,382 crore are being implemented across the state. These include track construction, station redevelopment, safety enhancement measures and capacity augmentation initiatives,” said the minister.
