A team led by Assistant Sub Inspector Bhupinder Singh from City-1 police station seized 88 bottles of illicit liquor that a biker, identified as Amandeep Singh of Seed Farm, was carrying for sale. The bike was stopped and checked near the cotton yard, a few metres away from the new grain market. The biker was arrested and a case was registered under the Excise Act.

In a separate incident, Jawahar Lal of City-2 police station seized 9 bottles of liquor from Kalu Ram of Subhash Nagar and later arrested him.
