Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and his former cabinet colleague Navjot Singh Sidhu held an hour-long meeting at the former's farmhouse in Siswan.

Sidhu left for Amritsar after the meeting.

In a tweet shared by the CM's media advisor: "It was a warm & cordial luncheon meeting that saw CM @capt_amarinder and Navjot Singh Sidhu discuss a host of important political matters of Punjab and national interest. The two leaders spent a pleasant over an hour sharing thoughts on vital issues. @sherryontopp @INCIndia."

Sources privy to the rapprochement between the two leaders said discussions were held on a host of political issues, including on the farmers' agitation.

The meeting could soon see the re-induction of Sidhu into the state cabinet in the coming days. There could be a possible reshuffle of departments soon after Sidhu’s induction.

In the past, the two leaders had been cold-shouldering each other before rapprochement efforts between the two gained steam due to the intervention of Punjab affairs in-charge Harish Rawat.
