AAP MLA from Dakha H S Phoolka has said he will resign on Friday from the membership of Punjab Legislative Assembly in protest against the state government's "failures" to book former DGP Sumedh Saini and ex-CM Parkash Singh Badal in sacrilege incidents.

Phoolka said he had deferred his resignation earlier as the Punjab and Haryana High Court had stayed action against four police officials accused of firing on a mob of protesters.

Phoolka said the high court did not stay proceedings against Saini today.
