AAP supports protesting sweepers in Muktsar

Muktsar, June 10

Activists of AAP under the leadership of vice-president of the party’s youth wing Jagdeep Sandhu today staged a protest against the state government by dumping garbage inside the Municipal Council complex and in front of the shop-cum-residence of Municipal Council president Krishan Kumar Shammi Tehria on the Jalalabad Road here.

Sweepers have gone on a strike for almost a month seeking regularisation, hike in their wages and recruitment of more staff. As a result, heaps of garbage is visible in every nook and corner of the town and residents are facing hardships.

To lend their support to the protesting sweepers, the AAP activists first reached the Municipal Council office, where Jagdeep Sandhu unloaded a garbage-laden tractor-trailer. — TNS
