Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, has finally received the communication from the Centre for the start of the first batch of MBBS of AIIMS, Bathinda, on its campus on a temporary basis. The AIIMS campus is coming up on the Bathinda-Dabwali road here.
Talking to The Tribune, BFUHS Vice Chancellor Dr Raj Bahadur confirmed that they had got the letter in this regard and the first MBBS batch of AIIMS, would join the academic session at the transit campus of BFUHS in July this year. He said the first batch would comprise 50 students who would be selected through an entrance test conducted by AIIMS.
The BFUHS was selected as the transit campus of AIIMS, Bathinda, after a team of the PGIMER, Chandigarh, constituted by the Health Ministry, carried out inspection of five institutions, four in Bathinda and one in Faridkot last month.
Other institutes were Advanced Cancer Diagnostic and Research Institute, Guru Kashi University, Government Polytechnic College at Jaisinghwala village, and Adesh University in Bathinda.
