Bathinda, January 17

A girl died and two other persons suffered critical injuries after a car ran over them while they were sleeping under a flyover in Bathinda in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Nandini and the injured had been admitted to hospital. The car driver was heading back to his home in Jalalabad after paying obeisance in Talwandi Sabo along with his family.

Sources said the car driver failed to navigate as high-beam of the vehicle coming from the opposite direction hit his eyes.

The body of the deceased has been sent for a post-mortem examination.

The police have impounded the car.
