Responding to the call given by the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha under the ongoing farmers’ agitation, women activists of the BKU (Sidhupur) today protested outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office here.

In a show of strength, women conveyed the message that the role of women in half of the world’s population was no less than that of men in any field. He said whenever rights’ struggles were or would be waged in any corner of the world, ‘nari shakti’ would promptly demonstrate its existence.

Accusing the central government of adopting a dictatorial attitude, the activists urged it to give up its stubbornness and address the demands of the farmers on a priority.

Farmer leader Angrej Singh Kalyan said the Modi government was testing the patience of the farmers through repression. He said they would continue to persevere till their objective was realised. — TNS
